Armor Changes

In the upcoming release, they’ve added 1 primitive outfit, 5 light armors, 6 medium armors, and 4 heavy armors for a total of 16 sets. Each non-primitive armor set gives character bonuses. Adding more RPG elements to the game. A full set of an armor type gives you a set bonus. New physics was added to clothing and character objects. When your character has a cape/coat equipped it behaves like normal fabrics.

Optimizations

Smoothed out hitching/stuttering when entering dense areas and cities. Made optimizations to get the game to run on consoles. Alpha 21 didn’t work on consoles without the Alpha 22 optimizations.

Model Improvements

AI models, notably zombies, now have variant textures/skins adding variety to the game world. The vegetation is also getting an overhaul where now certain assets like the cotton plant have been converted into 3D models. Objects now fade in as the player moves around the screen.

Horde Night Improvements

Starting blood moons are going to be longer and harder versus the current style where the first blood moon may be over in an hour.

Trader Changes

Trader upgrades are going to be slower instead of pushing the player through the upgrade tree faster. The changes are intending to make the game more crafting focused and make the game’s economy tougher.

Challenge System

The tutorial system is being overhauled to a system that rewards the player for doing various challenges to help the player learn more about the game. The new Challenges system will also replace the existing Journal system. Completing challenges rewards the player with XP. The challenges system provides a deeper explanation of how to do various things in the game in a more organized layout. After completing the Basics/Tutorial, all other challenges are unlocked for the player. For players/streamers, there are also some new challenges releated to Twitch Integration.
